We respect old homes. A 1920s house has bones worth keeping, and good remodeling means knowing the difference between what to preserve and what to rebuild.

- Can we live in the house during the remodel?
- Sometimes, for a phased remodel. For a true whole house project it is usually cleaner and safer to move out for the heavy stretch. We will tell you honestly which one your project is.
- How do you handle older homes with surprises in the walls?
- We expect them. Knob and tube wiring, old plumbing, and framing that is not square are normal in Bay Area homes. We budget a contingency and talk to you before we spend it, so a surprise does not become a fight.
